From Adverblog, Ebay's competitor in Belgium is using the Ebay listing system to advertise its own site. Hebbes listed several items with signs saying "Sorry, already sold on hebbes.be" in the listing. Clever move, but to me the Adverblog article and Ebay listing raise a few issues:
1. It's dishonest advertising. The seller's ID has zero feedback and is not listed as being Hebbes or associated with Hebbes. Stealth marketing? Perhaps.
2. Considering how passionate Ebay buyers can be, there is potential backlash against Hebbes for listing unavailable items.
3. Who the hell is still using IE 5 on a Mac? ;)
